COMPANION ANIMAL OF THE MONTH

APRIL

SWEET PEA

Atlantic Animal Hospital has chosen Sweet Pea as Companion Animal of the Month for April.  Sweet Pea is the companion of Jean and Walter Krawchak.  She is a five year old terrier mix from the Flagler Humane Society.  Jean and Walter began taking care of Sweet Pea three years ago when Jean's daughter, Sharon, became ill.  No matter who Sweet Pea is with, she is loved to the "sky the moon and the stars!"

Sweet Pea is very vocal and likes to make her presence known.  She loves to stalk lizards and other animals, as well as pick up rocks and throw them in the air.  Even though Sweet Pea is very playful, she can also be very patient and sweet.  When she looks at you, you can see every emotion through her very expressive eyes.  Sweet Pea is smart, a good listener, and loves unconditionally.

Sweet Pea's bad eating habits led to her having severe gastroenteritis.  She spent about a month in and out of several local veterinary hospitals including about two weeks in our medical ward.  She is still slowly recovering at home.  Her mom and dad have promised to keep Sweet Pea on a short leash and away from the lizards, rocks, and mulch.

Jean and Walter would like to thank Dr. Sukhija and his caring staff for taking care of Sweet Pea and pulling her through what would have been fatal if not for her treatment.  Everyone at the clinic has given the Krawchak family love, care, and hope.  Atlantic Animal Hospital would like to thank the Krawchak's for being such wonderful owners to Sweet Pea and Sweet Pea for being such a wonderful companion.  We are proud to have Sweet Pea as Atlantic Animal Hospital's "Companion Animal of the Month" for April.
