COMPANION ANIMAL OF THE MONTH

NOVEMBER

 MUDD

Mudd, thirteen years old, is the companion to Karen and her mother Anna.  Rounding out the household is Mudd's sister Misty, also thirteen, and her three-year-old brothers Dusty and Midge.  Since joining Karen and Anna's family as a stray at eight weeks old, Mudd has made herself at home, earning the nickname "Miss Priss."  Out of all the animals in the house, Mudd rules the roost!

Anyone who has had the pleasure of knowing Mudd knows how loving and friendly she is.  If Mudd decides she likes you, she's sure to want all of your attention.  Mudd is also a little bit of a flirt.  She loves men and attaches herself to any man who visits the house, including the yardmen, the plumber, and the electrician!

Take one look at Mudd and you can see how she got her name.  Mudd looks like she was dipped in a mud puddle with just the tip of her tail being white.  Mudd loves the outdoors and is able to go out on both a harness and a leash.

Mudd has had kidney failure since 2003 and has recently been diagnosed with diabetes.  Between the fluids, the insulin and the pills, Mudd is very patient with all of the poking and prodding she receives.  Throughout everything, Mudd has not only served as mother to her brothers and sister, but also as a great friend and joy to both Karen and Anna.  Mudd exemplifies what a companion animal truly is.  We are proud to have Mudd as our November "Companion Animal of the Month."
