This month Atlantic Animal Hospital has chosen not one animal for Companion Animal of the Month, but instead would like to highlight the ARNI Foundation's rescue animals available for adoption. ARNI is located on 126 W. International Speedway Blvd. Daytona Beach, Florida 32114. ARNI stands for Animal Rescue Need and Intervention and is a non-profit organization that survives only through donations and fund-raising.
ARNI rescues and shelters pets from cruel ownership, abusive conditions, and abandonment. The foundation works hard to rehabilitate these animals and find them loving and responsible families. It places these animals free of charge and pays for them to be spayed or neutered. Before being adopted, ARNI treats any sick animal until they are ready to join a family.
In September, ARNI's volunteers went to Waveland, Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina. There, they rescued many dogs and cats that had either been left stranded or belonged to evacuees who could no longer care for them. Thankfully, many of these animals were adopted by families in the Volusia County area.
ARNI is in the process of moving to a new, permanent facility, but unfortunately, they need to find homes for the remaining animals in their shelter until that time comes. We would like to encourage people to stop by their facility and see what you can do to help, whether it be by adopting one of the wonderful animals or by just fostering one of the animals until the new facility is ready. If you have any questions about the available animals please call the ARNI Foundation at (386) 267-0277.
