Welcome to Atlantic Animal Hospital

Atlantic Animal Hospital has been caring for animals alongside their people since 1972. We aspire to provide outstanding veterinary care for animal companions, and up to date information and education for our clients. We believe that caring for a patient has to be a team effort involving veterinary professionals and clients that communicate for the patient’s best interest. Through this team approach we seek to further the human-animal bond and the veterinarian, client, and companion animal relationship.

News & Events

June 2008: Reintroducing Proheart 6, the convenient injection that prevents heartworms in dogs for 6 months. This product was extremely popular in the early part of this decade until a recall a few years ago. The recall did not find any problems with the medication and it has been safely used in Australia and many European countries for several years. As with all prescription medications, only a veterinarian can decide if Proheart 6 is right for your dog. Please schedule an appointment to discuss if Proheart 6 is a good option for your canine companion.

June 2008: Introducing Convenia, the convenient antibiotic injection that lasts for 14 days. Skin infections due to allergies and/or traumatic wounds are one of the most common medical problems seen at animal hospitals. Many clients feel that giving an oral antibiotic one to three times a day can be difficult to remember and sometimes impossible depending on the animals disposition and acceptance of oral medications. A Convenia injection, administered at our hospital provides a safe alternative to oral antibiotics for skin infections. We are one of the first veterinary hospitals in the area to offer this medication. Only a veterinarian can decide if Convenia is right for your companion animal. Please schedule an appointment to discuss if Convenia may be used for your dog or cat.

May 11, 2008: We are introducing ProxyRx home delivery service to the list of conveniences for our clients. You are now able to get home delivery for most prescriptions, heartworm and flea products, Royal Canin diets, and many other veterinary medical supplies. Read more…

Companion Animal of the Month

Companion Animal of the Month
Every month we feature a companion animal along with his or her human family and describe how their relationship makes a good example of the Human-Animal Bond. We also discuss how our hospital fits into the equation to show the ideal Patient-Client-Veterinarian relationship. To see our current and also all of the past featured companion animals, click here

Client Education

We believe in a team work effort in treating all of our patients. Our clients are a major part of this team. Although most client education is done one on one in the hospital, we have selected a few topics that should be read and understood by all persons with companion animals. Please see the information section on the left for this list. Also, for other veterinary topics, please click here.

Pet Portals

This is a free online service for our clients. It allows you to get 24-hour access to each companion animals vaccination status and some other health information, communicate with us online, set-up reminders, watch educational videos, upload photographs, request prescription refills and much more.
