September
2009 - Canine Influenza: There have
been numerous reports of canine flu outbreaks
in shelters, kennels, and veterinary clinics
since 2004. Some of these outbreaks were traced
back to just one sick dog that spread the virus
throughout the facility and infected many other
dogs. Until recently, there was no vaccine available
for this disease. We are proud to be one of the
first veterinary hospitals in Volusia County
to now have the new canine
influenza vaccine. In an effort to stress
the importance of education and protection against
this new emerging virus, we are waiving the Wellness
Evaluation fee for this vaccination until October
31, 2009. Read more-->

Interesting animals are popping up all over at
Atlantic Animal Hospital these days. Since Dr.
Amy Long has joined the AAH team there has not
been a shortage of new

have walked, clung, slithered, or squawked through
AAH doors over the past month, include an Argentinean
tegu, Capuchin monkey, 5 baby ball pythons, an
Eclectus parrot, baby cockatiel, and a guinea pig.
Our practice is growing with each new day.
